Most platforms don't have a verification problem.

For a platform storing identity documents and biometric data, the engineering burden includes: encryption infrastructure that meets jurisdictional requirements, role-based access controls with audit logging, automated retention schedules with provable deletion, breach detection and notification pipelines, data subject access request fulfillment workflows, and cross-border data transfer compliance if users span multiple jurisdictions.

That's not a feature sprint. That's a permanent line item — headcount, tooling, legal review, and audit cycles that compound every quarter.
